Rendered Floorplan
Design Rationale:
Accommodation Pod(s) - This compact accommodation pod is designed with functional zoning in mind, creating a smooth transition from public to private spaces, starting from the kitchen and dining area, flowing into the living room, and ending at the bedroom. This thoughtful layout promotes both social interaction and personal retreat, supporting comfort, identity, and a sense of belonging. Aesthetically, the space features a modern, minimalist style with warm undertones. Natural materials like warm wood flooring and light marble in the bathroom offer an earthy, timeless look, while clean-lined furniture enhances visual lightness and space efficiency. Technically, the design maximizes space with compact utilities, a tucked-away wet area to simplify plumbing, and a galley kitchen with integrated storage and appliances. Natural lighting and ventilation are optimized through the full-length glass wall and open layout. Wayfinding is intuitive, supported by consistent flooring, clear circulation, and visual anchors like the sofa and bed, which guide orientation. Creative solutions include multi-functional furniture, such as a dining table that doubles as a workspace, and space-saving features like the bench near the bathroom serving as both storage and seating—ensuring practicality without sacrificing comfort or openness.
Service Pod - The café’s design combines aesthetics, functionality, and placemaking to create a warm, efficient, and welcoming environment. Light wood flooring, beige seating, and greenery establish a cozy atmosphere, while balanced table alignment and clear zoning from outdoor seating to indoor dining and back-of-house offer a smooth visual and spatial flow. The kitchen supports efficient workflow with a linear layout and hygiene-focused zoning, while flexible table arrangements and wide walkways ensure accessibility and adaptability. The wayfinding is intuitive with a transparent frontage, clear sightlines, and pendant lighting, guiding guests through the space. Creative placemaking is achieved through an open kitchen that encourages interaction, a reconfigurable dining area for events, and outdoor seating that connects the café to the street. Personal touches like books and plants add charm and shareable moments, making the café not just a dining spot, but a community hub that encourages repeat visits.

Rendered Plan of Entire Site
Design Rationale:
Overall Site - The overall site design transforms a triangular plot into a vibrant, flexible, and community-focused venue. Aesthetically, the radial layout creates symmetry and visual harmony, with stone-paved paths and lush grass blending built and natural elements. Open skies enhance the outdoor experience, while evenly distributed seating and vendor stalls add rhythm and balance. Technically, the central hub maximizes land use and access, with stalls positioned for easy utility connections and stone paths supporting drainage and maintenance. Perimeter routes allow smooth service access. Wayfinding is intuitive, with a central landmark acting as a visual anchor and radial paths guiding movement. Varying path widths help distinguish main and secondary routes, while multiple entrances make the space inviting from all sides. Creative placemaking elements like a communal center for performances or dining, flexible grass patches for pop-ups or play, and decorative planters and seating encourage exploration, lingering, and community interaction. Altogether, the space blends form and function, offering a memorable and adaptable setting for events, markets, and gatherings.
